Can you handle the truth?

Are you familiar with the term atrophy? Atrophy is defined as a gradual decline in effectiveness or vigor due to underuse or neglect. Research shows that our muscles lose size and circumference in just a few days of lack of use.

Now think of 10 to 14 days without strength training. You will have lost muscle mass and function, soon resulting in the official disease the CDC declared in 2016, Sarcopenia. First comes atrophy, then comes Sarcopenia, and eventually the more severe bone density issues called Osteopenia and Osteoporosis.

The truth is that science tells us that we can stop, prevent, and reverse the loss of muscle mass and bone density primarily with one act - Resistance Training.  NOW for the shocker.  MPR’s cognitive challenges, recovery prioritization modalities and strength training are the solution for fall risk prevention, as well as putting as much distance as possible between you and the Sarcopenia disability threshold.

MPR is movement for a lifetime on your schedule, at your level, from any location made easily accessible on the mobile device of your choice.

Where are you located?

Wherever you are! The program is designed to maximize your freedom by never being dependent on any one location. Your resistance bands pack easily into zip bag provided for easy storage and travel allowing you to perform a session where and when you want. You can execute the principles of Exercise Science with the MPR Med Exercise program from your home to Timbuktu.

Will this apply to people who have LITTLE experience to A LOT of experience?

YES, MPR is designed to meet you at your current fitness level even if you are just beginning. While many virtual fitness programs provide libraries of workouts to choose from, MPR eliminates any confusion on where to start and how to progress with a step-by-step guide to perform every movement safely and properly, before progressing to the next session.

No small groups, no need to book appointments to reserve your spot. No waiting for an email link granting you access, and no complicated requirements for you to set-up your video device. YOU are the sole focus!

I Walk Regularly. Would I Benefit from MPR Med Exercise?

YES, walking regularly is great for your overall health. Resistance Training preserves and builds muscle mass, elevating your metabolism.  Higher metabolism helps to prevent weight gain and increases mobility.

Sarcopenia, or the loss of muscle mass and function, is a major cause of physical disability. Sarcopenia often begins in middle age, so reinforcing your skeletomuscular system early is important.

Resistance Training also increases bone density, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, improves insulin sensitivity, and can help alleviate the symptoms of depression and arthritis.

Research data now conclusively shows that exercise, specifically Resistance Training, is not just essential for the health of your body but is an essential component to the health of your brain (cited in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society).

I’ve completed Physical Therapy, Now WHAT?

It’s Simple! MPR Med Exercise is your next step in the healthcare continuum designed to build upon what you have accomplished in Physical Therapy. As your Medical Exercise Specialist, I provide side-by-side coaching at your fingertips. You can be prescribed physical therapy sessions for an array of ailments. You may have experienced an injury that is causing inflammation and pain or are post a joint replacement or even a minimal invasive surgery. The result when being released from Physical Therapy is that you have reached the milestones set for you to carry on with your life.

BUT it does NOT stop there. Like any vehicle your body needs maintenance, when you do not drive it regularly you run risks. What are MPR Med Exercise assessments?

Our assessments are unique to MPR and are optional. We’ve created a research-based evaluation incorporating elements of the Senior Fitness Test, using a standardized protocol, enabling you to effectively track your strength, balance, mobility and core endurance. We all learn to crawl before we walk. Our assessment schedule (approximately every 2 months) is based on when the body has had the opportunity to establish neural adaptations by performing movements correctly and safely.

We use our assessments as a tool to guide you through your program progression. This format provides step-by-step instruction after the period of neural adaptation peaks, and the body is more skilled in the movement.

Is MPR Med Exercise Covered by Health Insurance or Medicare?

As is the case of most virtual fitness programs, we are not yet covered by any insurance providers. This is a goal of ours and we are pursuing it for the very near future. We’ll keep you posted!
